HELPER’S WESTERN MINING

AND RAILROAD MUSEUM

HERITAGE WEEK SHOW

The town of Helper’s Western Mining and Railroad Museum in Carbon County is planning their annual Heritage Week, and has asked the Ophir, Tintic and Western Model Railroad club to participate by setting up a layout or two on Friday and Saturday, June 6 & 7, 2008. Anyone who would like to participate should either be at the regular club meeting on April 17 at the Scera, or call the vice-president in charge of their scale to let them know of their interest. Helper is located 60 miles southeast of Spanish Fork on Highway 9, (1½ hours south of Orem). We will make further plans when we know how many people are able to participate.

 

CALENDAR OF EVENTS

April 17 – 7 PM club meeting at the Scera boardroom. Clinic by N-Scale will be on fiber optics.

May 15 – 7 PM club meeting at the Scera boardroom. Clinic by HO will be on various ways of constructing and installing highways, streets and sidewalks on our layouts.

June 6-7 – Helper Heritage Week Train Display

June 19 – 7 PM club meeting at the Scera boardroom.

July 18 – 7 PM club meeting at the Scera boardroom.

August 2-3 – Evanston Train Show

EVANSTON TRAIN SHOW

The 11th Annual Roundhouse Festival will be held August 2-3, at the renovated machine shop, 1440 Main Street. Festival hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Attractions will include a model train show, train vendors,roundhouse tours, turntable rides, entertainment, and raffles. Refreshments will be available.
